Giving Tuesday

On Tuesday, December 2, people all over the world will take part in Giving Tuesday—a day dedicated to generosity, compassion, and joining together to make a difference. For us at Luma Counseling, it’s a day that reflects the heart of our mission: walking alongside those who are hurting and pointing them toward healing and hope in Christ.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of sitting with so many stories:

A single mom who felt she had no one to turn to.
A father recovering from cancer who was weighed down with fear.
A couple whose marriage was hanging by a thread.

Because of the generosity of friends who believe in this work, those stories—and many others—are now marked by hope. Clients found safe space, biblical wisdom, and professional support that helped them take steps toward healing.

And the impact doesn’t stop there. Your generosity helps us care for men and women, teens and kids, couples, and families, and even groups who are learning together how to bear one another’s burdens. These aren’t just “counseling cases”—they are precious souls made in God’s image whose lives and families are being restored.

Scripture calls us to this very work: “Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). Giving Tuesday is one simple way to join in that calling.

We invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with us this Giving Tuesday. Your support—whether through prayer, a one-time gift, or ongoing generosity—ensures that when someone takes the courageous step to seek help, Luma Counseling will be ready to walk with them.

Together, we can continue shining the light of Christ, lifting burdens, and offering hope to our community.

What Does Emotional Burnout Feel Like?

“Why am I like this?” “I’m just exhausted.” “I have no passion anymore.” If those thoughts have crossed your mind recently, you are not weak. You are not failing. You may simply be weary. And weary is a word Scripture understands well. The dictionary defines weary as “exhausted in strength, endurance, vigor, or freshness; having […]

Understanding Attachment: Secure Attachment

I’m back to continue the conversation on attachment, what it looks like, and why it should matter to believers of Jesus. Last time I spent time providing an introduction of attachment. Today I am going to dive deeper into what secure attachment looks like. I want to reiterate something I mentioned in my last blog […]

New Morning Mercies: Freedom for Today, Not Yesterday

There is something quietly powerful about waking up to a new day. Before the emails arrive, before the news updates, before we replay yesterday’s conversations in our heads, Scripture speaks a steady truth: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is […]
