Marla Vroegop loves the opportunity to walk with people in the midst of hardship while graciously pointing them to the hope of Christ. Marla earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University and her Masters of Social Work at Indiana University Purdue University. Marla has experience caring for teen girls struggling with intense mental health dynamics from her time serving as a houseparent at a Christian residential treatment facility. These girls struggled with self-harm and suicidal ideation. She received additional experience serving at a residential treatment facility in the Dominican Republic where she learned how to incorporate holistic care and was able to combine counseling with her love for Jesus, the outdoors, and adventure.
Marla is a licensed clinical social worker and worked several years at a mental health agency doing a mixture of school-based, group home, and outpatient counseling. Most recently she has served as a counselor on the staff team of College Park Church. As an extension of her learning related biblical counseling Marla has completed the CCEF Formation Certificate. Marla is most passionate about individual counseling with teen girls or women walking through trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational hurt. Marla enjoys most outdoor activities, like hiking, hammocking, and camping. She and her husband are expecting their first baby in March 2023.
